Stuti Changle is a bestselling author of two books – ‘On The Open Road’ and ‘You Only Live Once’ who is on a mission to inspire people by sharing life-changing stories. Her inspiring journey and beautiful story-telling skills have made many young and old souls fall for her books and writing. I am so happy to have her on board for this Q and A. Let’s dive straight in and learn from the acclaimed author herself…

Describe yourself in not more than 5 words

  • Gregarious, Spontaneous, Visionary!

Tell us more about your journey, how did you begin writing?

  • I started penning my thoughts down on a piece of paper for as long as I can remember. I always wanted to write stories but was never aware of any conventional career options in writing. It was back in 2016 that I finally decided to quit my full-time job and venture into writing novels.

How to you balance work and personal life, considering so much is going on?

  • Being a married woman who lives with her in-laws I do have to draw a fine line between work hours and family time. Otherwise, being a woman, you’re mostly expected to be contributing to household chores and other random deliverables. I am very determined and organized about what I want from a particular time in my life and that has helped me manage time well.

Any tips to improving writing skills?

  • Read, read and read. Watch, watch and watch. I would say consume good content as much as you can!

Your personal mantra for happiness?

  • Happiness is something which comes from within. No one can make or break your day. Happiness is a decision that we make.

How can aspiring authors decide whether to opt for the regular publishing system or self-publish their work?

  • There is no hard and fast rule. It all depends on the resources that one has access to! One needs to evaluate that first and make a call accordingly.

Is copyrighting the book necessary before the publishing process?

  • Yes. If you’re self-publishing your book you need to get it copyrighted on your own! Otherwise, the publisher takes care of it and you can simply sit back and relax.

There are many writers who aspire to become an author someday, what is the one thing that you would like to share with them?

  • Write. Write. Write. You must keep on writing and get better at the art of writing. Many writers lose hope even before getting their first work published while many lose hope if their first publication does not meet their defined goal of the number of copies sold. But what many fail to recognize is that one needs to find solace in the journey of writing rather than the commercial successes and failures!

What’s next in store for your readers?

  • I have finished my third book. 😉

Any special message for the readers?

  • Keep reading beautiful stories and find inspiration to lead meaningful lives!
